"Fireman, Save My Child!"

The Randy Players are excited to present this year's Melodrama, "Fireman, Save My Child!" during the annual State Line Heritage Days. Show dates and times are Wed., Thurs., and Fri., July 30-Aug. 1st, each night at 8pm. We will also have 2 shows on Saturday, August 2nd, with the first at 4:30 and the second at 7pm. We are celebrating 20 years of being under the big tent and also Dennis Pratt's 20th anniversary as our villian. Come out and cheer on the cast and boo the villian as we do our best to entertain you once again this year!

Randy Players Host Muncie Civic Theatre

On June 21st and 22nd The Randy Players hosted a group from the Muncie Civic Theatre who performed a Folk Song Cabaret at the Hoosier Place Auditorium. The six very talented members of "Folk US" put on two shows, one on Saturday evening and then a matinee on Sunday. The proceeds from ticket sales were split between and will greatly benefit both theatre groups. If you were one of the lucky ones who got to enjoy the performance then you will agree that it was a musical history lesson well worth the two hour journey. Thanks to all who helped make this event possible!

Auditions Coming Soon!

Just a quick notice to make you aware of our upcoming auditions for "Nunsense, the Musical". Tryouts will take place on Tuesday, July 22 and Wednesday, July 23 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Wesley United Methodist Church in Union City. We are looking for interested ladies for this production, as the entire cast (all 5 of them!) are ladies. For auditions, you will be asked to read from the script and sing a solo (any song of your choosing, as long as you have a cd or accompaniment to play with you). Back on Track!

Greetings to all!



Back in January we were so gung-ho about our blog. Then things happened and before we knew it, it was June.



As President, I felt it my obligation to figure out again what I had gotten the group into in reference to this blog. So, I took about 15 minutes and figured out how to get back into our account to make an update and am learning how to post videos and pictures on here so you can all see what we are about!



We just had our monthly board meeting, and I would like to share with you what we have coming up:



Saturday, June 21 at 7:00 p.m. and Sunday, June 22 at 2:00 p.m.- "Folk Song America" will be presented at the Hoosier Place Auditorium in Union City, Indiana (our homestead). These performances are being presented by members of the Muncie Civic Theater in Muncie, Indiana. If you enjoy folk music and local, state, and US history, you will love these events. Sometime in July (update coming soon!)- Auditions will be held for our November production of "Nunsense, the Musical." You are encouraged to visit YouTube, type in "Nunsense, the Musical", and watch the original production starring Golden Girl Rue MacClanahan. This is an awesome show that ALL will enjoy!



Wednesday, July 30- Saturday, August 2- The Randy Players will be presenting our annual melodrama during Union City's State Line Heritage Days. This production marks our 20th year "under the Big Tent." It also happens to be the 20th consecutive year of having Union City's own Dennis Pratt portraying the villain! Boooooo! We will be selling t-shirts to celebrate both of these accomplishments. You won't want to miss out.

Our 2008 Season Has Begun!

Welcome to the Randy Players' Blog! We are a small (but mighty) Civic Theater group based in Union City, Indiana. We are a completely volunteeer group, always looking for more volunteers to act, build, paint, decorate...., virtually anything to do with the theater.

Our first production for 2008 will be the ever-popular "Bus Stop." We are looking for interested persons in our area, ages 18-?, to audition for this show. The play consists of 5 men, 3 women. If you are interested, please respond to this notice and we will gladly get back to you. Be sure to leave us your contact information!

Auditions will be held on Monday and Tuesday, January 28 and 29 from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Crown Pointe Retirement Village in Union City, Indiana. Hope to see you there!
